Carrick Speaks Frankly After Man Uniteds 5-0 Rout of Rosenborg

Carrick speaks frankly after Man United's 5-0 thrashing of Rosenborg.

"It has to be like this!" Carrick expressed delight with Man United's 5-0 victory over Rosenborg.

Michael Carrick, Manchester United's coach, said he was pleased with his team's performance after they thrashed Rosenborg 5-0 in a friendly last night. He pointed out that nothing is better than scoring many goals, keeping a clean sheet, and having no injuries.

Carrick said, "Keeping a clean sheet, scoring goals, and it seems like no one got injured are exactly what we need right now. Although we want everything and our performance to keep improving, I believe maintaining player fitness and preseason development is just as important. So after two games and two weeks, I think we can sustain this level, and we are quite satisfied. In the second half, the young players who came on performed excellently. They played very well as a team and deserved what they got in the second half."

"This preseason is very important, and we are managing each player's playing time appropriately. I said before the game that it wouldn't be perfect. Two weeks have passed, and we are gradually building toward that. So, I think many good things have happened. Some of the goals were brilliant, and keeping a clean sheet is also something to be happy about. So yes, we are making good progress."

"This is the best time for footballers, when you are confident, and it's my job to try to keep the players in that mindset. The senior players are currently finding their way, but you can see they are in a good place and starting to get used to consistently good results, which is positive."

"As for the younger players, when you see them express themselves and push themselves to improve, I think their second-half performance was excellent. I'm glad to see that from them because that's what you hope for. They all have potential in different areas, and you want them to fulfill that potential and keep pushing themselves, and they definitely are."

"I think we are in a good situation. I believe there are four weeks left before the season starts, and players are gradually returning from the World Cup. Patience, time, and trying to maintain everyone's fitness while progressing is a very good direction. Right now, I think we are in a very good place, so the players will continue to develop."
