It has been reported that the executive board of the "Red Devils," Manchester United, a giant club in the English Premier League, is divided over the signing of Manu Koné, the French international midfielder from Roma, known as the "Giallorossi."
It is understood that Manchester United has already signed André Santos and Youri Tielemans to strengthen their midfield this summer, but Michael Carrick is still looking for a third midfielder to reinforce the squad before the new Premier League season kicks off, with the team also set to compete in the UEFA Champions League.
Earlier reports indicated that Manchester United had reached personal terms with Koné. However, they have yet to agree on a transfer fee with Roma, who are asking for €60 million (£51 million) for the 25-year-old player.
However, The Telegraph, a prominent UK media outlet, stated that not everyone on Manchester United's recruitment team supports signing Koné, and the French midfielder's deal does not have unanimous backing from senior management at Old Trafford.
The report added that Manchester United has not ruled out the possibility of signing 22-year-old Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, as the player is keen to join the Theatre of Dreams, but a major obstacle is Brighton's high asking price of £100 million, and Baleba had an inconsistent performance last season.
