Alonso has made his decision after Chelsea's recent win over Western Sydney.
Following Xabi Alonso's debut as head coach of the "Blues" Chelsea, securing a thrilling 6-4 victory over Western Sydney in a pre-season friendly in Australia, Joao Pedro came off the bench to deliver a stunning hat-trick late in the match.
After the game, Alonso decided that the team needs to improve quickly before the new season starts, stressing that everyone must contribute to scoring goals rather than relying on just one player.
Alonso said, "I think it was a very useful friendly match. We learned a lot today. We beat them, but it was a very close game, so credit must also go to them for that."
"I believe this friendly will be beneficial for the future and for giving everyone a chance to play. No one was injured. The young players gained valuable experience from the tour and playing time, while the senior players also performed well and made a positive impact. So, it was an exciting game for the fans."
When asked if experience will help Chelsea develop given recent performances, Alonso responded, "Everyone has to learn, everyone. It doesn't matter if you're young or more experienced. Everything depends on what happens in the game."
"You might be fast or good at dribbling, but you also need the game intelligence to do the right things in every aspect. We need to improve as quickly as possible because the competition starts in nearly a month, and we must be ready for that. We have to manage that well. It's very important in modern football."
Speaking about Joao Pedro: "He looks very hungry. Pedro is genuinely determined to have a good season. After last season, he scored many goals, but I think he wants to keep scoring more. We have to help him; he can't do it alone. The players around him must also be eager to score. It's not just about the striker. Every time we win and our forwards score, I am happy."
