Farewell to Manchester Citys Star Player as He Joins New Club

Farewell to Manchester City's star player as he leaves the team and officially joins a new club.

Official! John Stones has been unveiled as a new signing for Inter Milan, hoping to bring his experience from Manchester City to help the Nerazzurri.

John Stones, England's national team defender, has officially joined Inter Milan, the Italian Serie A giant, after over a decade at Manchester City, where he won numerous titles.

At 32, Stones became a free agent after his contract with Manchester City ended in late June. He then signed a two-year deal with Inter Milan, earning about 4 million euros per season.

Stones said, "I have become hungry for victory again. I have been very fortunate to win many titles in the past, and I want to bring that experience here to help the team and the club, as well as to continue learning and developing myself as a player."

"I’m very excited. I hope to bring all my qualities to the team, and I’m open to learning new things, new ways of playing football, and adapting to a new league."

Stones’ career was affected by injuries over the past few seasons, but he still played in five of England’s eight matches at the 2026 World Cup, where the Three Lions finished third.

At Inter Milan, Stones will reunite with Manuel Akanji, who transferred from Manchester City to Inter last year and has established himself as a key player there.

Akanji and Stones won seven titles together in three years at Manchester City, including the 2023 UEFA Champions League, where they defeated Inter Milan in the final.
