Iraola has made a decision after Liverpool's comeback loss to Leeds.
Andoni Iraola, manager of the "Reds" Liverpool, admitted this was not the result they wanted after his team lost 2-4 to the "Peacocks" Leeds United in the Premier League Summer Series 2026 friendly in the United States. He has decided the team will take lessons from this game to improve and fix issues before the new season starts.
In the match, Liverpool took an early 2-0 lead but were ultimately overturned by Leeds United, who scored four consecutive goals. This also marks Iraola's first defeat with Liverpool during the pre-season.
Iraola said, “This is not the result we wanted, but I think this might be the most beneficial friendly we've played, with positives in the first half and negatives in the second.”
"I think we learned a lot today, and I believe we can take these valuable lessons to make improvements and solve problems.”
“This is a great club with many fans. We must prepare well for the upcoming season.”
Liverpool's next friendly match will be against Monaco on 9 August.
