Liverpool has surprised by signing a "Barcelona player" to their squad.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano enthusiastically announced HERE WE GO!!! Liverpool, the Premier League giant, has reached an agreement to sign Uruguayan international Ronald Araújo from Barcelona, known as "Barça," on a season-long loan for 2026-27 to Anfield.
Romano stated, "Liverpool has agreed to loan Ronald Araújo from Barcelona!!!"
"The verbal agreement between Liverpool and Barcelona has been approved by Deco, Barcelona's sporting director. This is Liverpool's new defender."
Araújo is naturally a center-back but can also play at right-back. His arrival is an excellent reinforcement for Liverpool.
The 27-year-old, standing 191 centimeters tall, played 38 matches for Barcelona last season, marking his seventh season with the senior team.
Overall, Araújo has appeared in 213 matches for Barcelona's first team, scoring 14 goals.
Araújo will replace French international Ibrahima Konaté, who left Anfield to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. If Araújo performs well, Liverpool may pursue a permanent transfer.
