A former English Premier League club is reportedly interested in signing Jamie Vardy, the ex-Leicester City striker, to bolster their attack for the 2026-27 season.
On 11 Aug 2026, in a surprising move, West Ham United, a former English Premier League club, has shown interest in signing experienced English striker Jamie Vardy, who previously played for Leicester City, to compete in the 2026-27 Championship season with hopes of helping the team return to the top tier within a year.
West Ham United is considering the possibility of signing Jamie Vardy, who scored 200 goals and provided 71 assists in 500 appearances in England, mainly at Leicester City's King Power Stadium. He is currently a free agent after parting ways with Cremonese, the Italian club recently relegated from Serie A.
If West Ham successfully signs the 39-year-old veteran striker, he could make his debut in the first 2026-27 Championship match against Burnley, nicknamed "The Clarets," who were also relegated from the Premier League. The match is scheduled for 22:00 Thai time on 16 August.
