A renowned expert has named one player who would be an excellent deal for Manchester United.
Ruud Gullit, the legendary Dutch winger, expressed confidence that Marcus Rashford's return to Old Trafford could be the club's best deal of the summer.
Initially, Rashford's future with Manchester United seemed over when he moved to Barcelona on loan last season with a £26 million buy option. The 28-year-old clearly intended to sign permanently with Barcelona, but the Spanish giants chose to sign Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon instead, leading Rashford to return to the Theatre of Dreams.
Although his transfer possibilities remain open, no club has been willing to pay the £40 million fee set by United, making it likely the Englishman must continue playing for the Red Devils.
Nonetheless, Ruud Gullit believes Rashford will return to the Premier League with determination to prove himself and that keeping the winger might be United’s best deal this summer.
“Marcus Rashford could become a fantastic deal for Manchester United. He learned a lot at Barcelona and played much better, enjoying more freedom than he ever had at United.”
“Is it his fault, or is it the club environment? It’s easy to blame the player, but if he performs well elsewhere, that shows something was wrong with his previous surroundings.”
“So, that might prove to be a great deal for Manchester United if he stays and plays as well as he did at Barcelona.”
