Michael Owen predicts the Premier League standings for the 2026-27 season, highlighting a rising team.
Michael Owen, the renowned football pundit, predicted the Premier League standings for the 2026-27 season, believing that Arsenal will definitely defend their Premier League title. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur is expected to rise to third place, and Manchester United will miss out on the top four.
Arsenal won their first Premier League title since 2004 last season (2025-26), finishing the season seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.
Additionally, Miguel Arteta's squad, who reached the Champions League final last season, reinforced why they are favorites to win the Premier League again by thrashing Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield last Sunday. Owen believes Arsenal will clinch the top league title once more.
Owen said, “If Arsenal maintain their level of play, they will win the Premier League again. I don't see any team capable of reaching 85 points, while Arsenal is almost guaranteed to hit that mark again.”
“They are a very consistent team with a good goalkeeper and defense. I don’t see them dropping form.”
“They will play steadily and score around 80-plus points, and I don’t think anyone will beat them.”
“I believe Arsenal is guaranteed to win the Premier League. Every other team has major question marks except Arsenal.”
“I dare say Tottenham will finish third. I think they will have a great year. They have a very good manager and have invested heavily. Meanwhile, Manchester City will not make the top four.”
