Liverpool is set to celebrate after agreeing personal terms with their target player.
Fabrizio Romano, the renowned Italian journalist, reported that Liverpool, the Premier League giant, has finalized personal terms with Jan Kuba Minteh, the Gambian international winger of Brighton & Hove Albion. Only the transfer fee with the player's club remains to be agreed.
Minteh, 22, is a key target for Liverpool to replace Mohamed Salah, who left after last season. Liverpool has made two offers to Brighton, starting with £50 million and most recently £60 million, both of which Brighton has rejected.
However, there are positive signs for the deal as Romano reported Liverpool has agreed personal terms with Minteh, who has expressed his readiness to join Anfield.
The transfer will happen once Liverpool and Brighton agree on the fee. Brighton is asking for £70 million, and negotiations between the clubs are ongoing.
Minteh moved from Newcastle to Brighton in 2024 for £30 million, scoring 10 goals and providing 9 assists in 73 appearances for Brighton.
Besides Minteh, Liverpool is also pursuing Bradley Barcola and Ibrahima Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain, but their high prices have limited progress.
