Last night, Everton submitted an offer to Manchester United for 25-year-old Joshua Zirkzee. The player wished to join the Toffees for more consistent playing time, having previously rejected two Italian clubs, Fiorentina and Juventus, because he wanted to continue playing in England.
However, Manchester United ultimately decided to keep Zirkzee for ongoing use, as the team faces multiple competitions this season, including the UEFA Champions League. Manager Michael Carrick did not want to lose a player suddenly without having a replacement ready.
As a result, Manchester United's summer transfer window closed without any new signings or departures on the last day. This summer, they have brought in three new players: Youri Tielemans, André Santos, and Carlos Baleba, who joined earlier.
