TAKUYA, the sole Japanese creator for the 2026 World Cup with over 600 million followers and a global authority on ball control techniques, has launched a dribbling skills clinic, recruiting 'Tae Dinho' as a coach.
TAKUYA, a renowned Japanese football skills coach and founder of REGATE Dribble School, together with Koshi Okubo, director of YUKI FOOTBALL Academy, held the "REGATE Dribble Clinic Bangkok 2026" event to teach ball control techniques to Thai youth on 21 Sep 2026 at the American School of Bangkok, Sukhumvit 49.
This project was a collaboration between REGATE Dribble School and YUKI FOOTBALL Academy, led by Koshi Okubo, an experienced Japanese footballer with a long career in Thailand and the sole REGATE partner in Thailand driving the initiative. They also brought in 'Tae Dinho' Thanasit Siripala, a former Thai national team player now with BG Pathum United of Thai League, known for his dribbling skills, to join the coaching staff.
Koshi Okubo has played professionally in Japan and Thailand for teams including Vegalta Sendai, Sony Sendai, Montedio Yamagata, Kyoto Sanga, as well as Bangkok Glass, PTT Rayong, Customs United, Royal Navy, Rayong, and Bangkok FC. He now serves as director of YUKI FOOTBALL Academy, which he founded over five years ago.
YUKI FOOTBALL Academy is a football training institution run by professionals with experience in the pro football world, focusing on developing youth skills, discipline, manners, responsibility, and social interaction, while providing opportunities to learn directly from coaches and professional players.
This event also marked the return of REGATE Bangkok School after a temporary pause in teaching since July. The training emphasized ball control, one-on-one duels, and selecting appropriate skills for real game situations using globally recognized special techniques.
TAKUYA hails from Miyakojima city, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. He began playing football in second grade before founding REGATE Dribble School, a football academy emphasizing dribbling and one-on-one duels. He shares football skills videos on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, reaching over 9 million followers across social media.
TAKUYA was also chosen as the only Japanese creator for the “FIFA World Cup 2026 Creator Correspondents” program, an official collaboration between TikTok and FIFA. Alongside 30 creator groups worldwide, he reports on the atmosphere, fan culture, and behind-the-scenes stories of the 2026 World Cup from a fan's perspective.
TAKUYA said of his visit to Thailand, "This time, we want children to gain more football skills and to mark our return to hosting events. Our dribbling training includes skills applicable in real matches and others that enhance coordination and body movement connection, even if not directly used in games."
Former Thai national player 'Tae Dinho' Thanasit Siripala, who joined as a coach, said, "Currently, few academies in Thailand focus exclusively on dribbling training; most emphasize passing, heading, and shooting, which are important fundamentals as well."
"As a professional footballer known for my dribbling style, I want to help train kids to develop and expand their skills. Our training focuses on practical application so children learn which skills to use in each situation to outplay opponents in one-on-one duels. Before taking on this role, I trained and learned the methods alongside the team for some time."
This collaboration aims to provide youth with a structured space to learn dribbling skills, enjoy ball control, build confidence in decision-making, and not fear mistakes, ultimately enabling them to apply and enhance these skills in real competitions.
