Andrew Robertson, left-back for the "Spurs" Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, admitted honestly that he probably wouldn’t have chosen to move from Liverpool to Spurs if the team had been relegated last season.
Robertson’s contract with Liverpool ended after last season, following his success winning two Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy, making him a highly sought-after player with offers from multiple clubs.
In the end, he chose Spurs, and recently, 32-year-old Robertson revealed that if Spurs had been relegated last season, they would not have worked together.
“My choice has always been Spurs, as long as they stayed in the Premier League. At that time, I didn’t want to play in the Championship with Spurs. So I followed Spurs very closely, especially when Roberto De Zerbi took over as manager. I was very confident they would avoid relegation.”
“They were the first team to show interest in me, and they truly wanted me. I’m happy they wanted me that much,” Robertson said.
So far, Robertson has played six matches for Spurs this season across all competitions, including five Premier League games and one Carabao Cup match, contributing one assist.
