Ferdinand Posts About Man Utd After Man City Found Guilty on Nearly All Financial Charges

Ferdinand posts about Manchester United after Manchester City was found guilty on nearly all financial charges related to misconduct.

"Ferdinand" posted repeatedly that "Man Utd" should be retroactively awarded the "Premier League" title for three seasons after "Man City" was found guilty on nearly all financial misconduct charges.

Following reports from renowned football journalist David Ornstein that "the Sky Blues" Manchester City were found guilty on 114 of 115 charges related to breaches of Premier League financial regulations covering the period from 2009 to 2018.

However, Manchester City is expected to appeal the independent panel's ruling, and no official penalties have been decided yet. The review process is ongoing, and possible sanctions range from fines, point deductions, to title stripping.

Recently, Rio Ferdinand, legendary former Manchester United defender, expressed his belief that Manchester United should be awarded the Premier League titles retrospectively for three seasons: 2011-12, 2017-18, and 2020-21.

Ferdinand posted, “Another Premier League trophy to add to the cabinet (referring to the 2011-12 season).” He then suggested that the seasons where the Red Devils finished second under managers José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær in 2017/18 and 2020/21 respectively should also be recognized as United titles.

He shared images of both former Red Devils managers with the caption: “Another title for José Mourinho and another for Ole Gunnar Solskjær.”

It should be noted that Ferdinand's comment regarding the 2020-21 season was likely made in jest, as that season falls outside the timeframe in which Manchester City was found to have breached financial rules.

Season 2011-12: Manchester United finished 2nd with 89 points, tied with Manchester City, but City had a better goal difference.

Season 2017-18: Manchester United finished 2nd with 81 points, while Manchester City won the title with 100 points.

Season 2020-21: Manchester United finished 2nd with 74 points, and Manchester City won the title with 86 points.
