Wayne Rooney, former Manchester United player, has responded to whether he would want an additional Premier League title if Manchester City were stripped of their championship.
On 30 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Wayne Rooney, legendary England striker and former Manchester United star of the Premier League, answered whether he would want another Premier League title if Manchester City, known as the "Citizens," were to be stripped of their crown following 115 financial rule breaches.
Rooney stated, "To be honest, I would feel uncomfortable accepting another Premier League winner's medal. I don't think we deserved it because we didn't do enough to win the Premier League that season. I believe we were leading by 6 or 7 points with 4 or 5 games left, but we dropped points ourselves. Now, too much time has passed for me to accept a Premier League winner's medal."
