Arsenal Faces Tough Challenge as Arteta Reveals Latest Bad News After Draw at Bayern in UCL Match 3

Arsenal faces a tough challenge as Arteta reveals the latest bad news after drawing away at Bayern in the 3rd match of the UEFA Champions League.

On 22 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, the English Premier League runners-up, revealed the latest bad news after the UEFA Champions League 2026-27 group stage 3rd match ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw away at Bayern Munich, leaders of the German Bundesliga.

This result keeps Arsenal unbeaten in their last 4 matches across all competitions and unbeaten in their first 3 UEFA Champions League matches, with 7 points, placing them 7th in the UCL 2026-27 group stage standings.

Arsenal continued their strong performance in the UEFA Champions League by extending their unbeaten streak in the group stage to 15 consecutive matches (14 wins, 1 draw) after Declan Rice heroically scored the equalizer against Bayern at the 82nd minute to secure a 2-2 draw.

However, Arsenal had to pay a price with an injury to their key winger Bukayo Saka, who suffered a thigh muscle injury and was substituted off for Eberechi Eze as early as the 10th minute.

Mikel Arteta revealed the latest condition of Bukayo Saka: "We are quite concerned. Having the player leave the field due to a sudden sharp pain is definitely not good news. But we will have to wait and see."

The Arsenal manager also commented on the performance in the draw against Bayern: "That was one of the highest levels of football we've played. Both teams pressed each other, both wanted to attack and play football. It was a very exciting game."

"We started the match incredibly well and clearly dominated the game. Then we had to adjust our plan after losing Saka."

"In the second half, the game was much more balanced. The opponents scored, so we had to respond—and we succeeded. We scored an equalizer and even had chances to win. That was the level of play in this match."
