Ruben Amorim's reaction after being taunted by Bournemouth fans linking him to Manchester United.
Amorim smiled sheepishly after Bournemouth fans teased him about losing 3-0 again, recalling the same scoreline defeat when he managed Manchester United.
Following the UEFA Europa League 2026-27 match last night, AC Milan, coached by Ruben Amorim, suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat away at Bournemouth.
When Bournemouth scored their third goal, their fans loudly shouted at Amorim, "Ruben Amorim, it happened again!" referencing the time when Amorim was Manchester United's manager and his team lost to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in 2024 by the same scoreline.
Amorim's reaction to hearing the fans' chant was a shy smile, which quickly became a widely shared image on social media. Here are some comments from fans:
- "Bournemouth fans shouted 'Ruben Amorim, it happened again,' and I nearly died laughing." - "Amorim laughed at Bournemouth's chant, haha." - "Amorim is funny. Why is he smiling at those chants? He lost to Bournemouth, after all."
Before the game, Ruben Amorim spoke about his time at Manchester United, saying, "Since I left Manchester United, I have gone through different times and situations in my life."
"I feel like a better coach now, not because I changed clubs, but because I have come to accept past experiences. I am very excited about the new experience at AC Milan."
"When you start a new journey, you find peace of mind and can move forward. That is why I am grateful for everything that has happened; it has brought me to this point."
