Sky Germany reported that Vincent Kompany, head coach of Bayern Munich, a major Bundesliga club, fainted after finishing a team training session and was urgently taken to the hospital.
Previously, Kompany had been ill from a viral infection and suffered a hip injury, which caused him to rarely stand on the sidelines during matches, such as the 6-1 Bundesliga win over RB Leipzig and the 2-2 UEFA Champions League draw with Arsenal, mostly sitting on the bench.
Most recently, after completing a training session, he collapsed and fainted, received initial first aid, and was urgently transported to a hospital in Munich.
Max Eberl, Bayern's sporting director, said, “Kompany's health is our top priority. We will do everything possible for his speedy recovery. Kompany is receiving all necessary medical care and support, and he will be given as much recovery time as he needs. Everyone at Bayern wishes him a swift recovery.”
