Scholes lashes out at Bruno, urges move to Saudi Arabia after criticizing Carrick, saying he’s lost credibility as captain.
On 28 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Paul Scholes, Manchester United’s legendary midfielder, said Bruno Fernandes, the Red Devils’ captain, should no longer be trusted as captain after publicly criticizing Michael Carrick’s tactics following Manchester United’s 1-4 away defeat to Como in the UEFA Champions League.
Subsequently, Carrick decided not to field Bruno in the recent match against Bournemouth, prompting Scholes to strongly criticize the 32-year-old captain on his podcast The Good, The Bad & The Football.
Scholes said, “What Bruno Fernandes said last week, I think, is unforgivable.”
“Who would trust Bruno as captain of any club now? I think he should leave European football and move to Saudi Arabia, just get away from here. I don’t think any manager or staff will trust him anymore after what he said.”
