Liverpool is shaken as Arteta delivers a sharp statement ahead of Arsenal's clash with the Reds.
Arteta declared, “It's time for Arsenal to go and beat Liverpool on their home turf after 14 years without a win at Anfield.”
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, said it is time for his team to go and beat Liverpool in the English Premier League this Sunday, noting that Arsenal has not won at Anfield in league play for 14 years.
The last time Arsenal won at Liverpool's Anfield was in the 2012-13 season, beating them 2-0 on 2 September 2012.
Arteta said, “It's a big game on Sunday, and we are certainly looking forward to it. We haven't won there in 14 years; it's time we secured a victory.”
“Certainly, going there with full confidence is the top priority. In recent years, we almost won, but something was missing. That’s what we've discussed over the past few days: to go there with a clear goal to damage them and bring back the win.”
“Both teams play aggressively with high pressing, giving opponents no time. I know Andoni Iraola very well, so both teams will face very similar periods, and overcoming those moments will be crucial. But that won't be the only factor important to winning this match.”
Regarding how to stop Alexander Isak, “We must try to keep him as far from the goal as possible, especially when he has space to run. We know how dangerous he is in those situations, and that is the quality of the striker we are talking about.”
