Enzo Maresca highlighted the key factors behind Manchester City's 3-2 away victory over RB Leipzig in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League league phase.
On 5 Nov 2026 GMT+7, Italian coach Enzo Maresca pointed out the reasons why the Premier League powerhouse Manchester City secured a 3-2 away win against Bundesliga contender RB Leipzig in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League league phase match 4 last night. This win gave them 9 points from 4 matches, placing them 7th in the group standings.
Enzo Maresca said, "Visiting Leipzig is never easy. They are a team known for their rapid and aggressive counterattacks. In the first half, we controlled possession well. What impressed me most was the team's reaction under pressure. We maintained our team structure effectively and found decisive attacking opportunities."
"At this top European level, managing player fitness is crucial. Every player who took the field today demonstrated quality and readiness, which made my job easier as everyone was committed to fighting for the team. Although we scored three goals and won, conceding two goals is something we need to review—especially how we handle the transition from defense to attack by our opponents, where we still need to be a bit calmer."
