Man United take note: Emery delivers sharp remarks ahead of Aston Villa's showdown with the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
“Emery” urges the “Villa players” to storm in and defeat “Man United” on their home turf in this Sunday’s Premier League clash, aiming to erase a five-year winless streak against the Red Devils.
Unai Emery, manager of the “Villains” Aston Villa, has called on his players to give their best as they prepare to visit “the Red Devils” Manchester United in the English Premier League on Sunday, aiming to end a five-year drought without a win at Old Trafford across all competitions.
Emery said, “This is Manchester United. We haven’t won there for five years. Manchester United is a great club. They performed very well last year, securing a place in the UEFA Champions League, and this season they have also done well in that competition.”
“As for the Premier League, they have had an inconsistent start, but I believe they will regain their consistency—hopefully not on Sunday when they face us. It will be a very tough game. We must perform at our best, both individually and as a team. Old Trafford will be a major challenge for me and the players.”
“My vision is to maintain our consistency and to develop positively, building strength and sustaining consistency in our process.”
“We are still missing some points in the league. We haven’t performed well enough to win certain matches, and we are working hard, analyzing every game thoroughly, and reviewing each player’s progress.”
“We started well in the Champions League but lost 3-0 to Barcelona. We played reasonably according to our plan, but it wasn’t enough because the level we face is the highest in the Premier League and Champions League.”
“Certainly, everything matters—how we plan our tactical structure for defense and attack, how the players understand everything, and how we give confidence to each player so they feel assured and comfortable within that structure.”
Aston Villa’s last win at Old Trafford was a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League in September 2021.
