Seventeen-year-old Maicon Cardoso, a Brazilian player with Thai roots, said he felt extremely happy and grateful after getting the chance to play for Bayern Munich, nicknamed 'Die Roten,' in the German Bundesliga for the first time during the match where his team thrashed Borussia Mönchengladbach 4-1 last night.
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany surprised many by including Maicon on the bench. Then, at the 61st minute, the joyful moment arrived when Maicon was brought on to replace Konrad Laimer, fulfilling his dream of playing in Germany's top league.
Maicon said, "I feel very happy and deeply grateful to play for Bayern Munich, which is the best club in the world. It’s truly a great honor. I will continue to train hard and work diligently."
With this victory, Bayern Munich increased their points to 66, maintaining their lead atop the German Bundesliga standings, 14 points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
