The first half was intense, with both teams creating chances, but it ended goalless at 0-0.
After the break, in the 57th minute, Chelsea took the lead 1-0. Facundo Buonanotte intercepted a mistake by the opposition, dribbled forward, then passed into the left side of the penalty area to Alejandro Garnacho, who scored.
Then, in the 75th minute, Cardiff equalized 1-1 when Perry Ng crossed from the right into the box, where David Turnbull headed the ball into the net.
In the 82nd minute, Chelsea regained the lead 2-1 when Andrey Santos passed to Pedro Neto, whose shot deflected into the goal.
Not done yet, in added time at 90+3 minutes, Chelsea extended their lead to 3-1. João Pedro assisted Alejandro Garnacho, who controlled the ball with his right foot and struck it firmly into the net.
The match ended with Chelsea winning 3-1 away at Cardiff City, becoming the first team to advance to the semi-finals.
