Roberto De Zerbi, manager of the "Hotspur" Tottenham Hotspur, admitted the team is going through a tough period. He apologized and took responsibility following their 1-3 away defeat to "The Reds" Liverpool in the third round of the Carabao Cup last night.
After a poor start to the Premier League season with no wins, Spurs’ hopes of advancing in the cup to boost morale ended disappointingly at Anfield. They were knocked out by Liverpool, who scored through Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
De Zerbi said, "I apologize, and it is my responsibility. We feel sorry about the result, disappointed and frustrated by this outcome. I think it’s unfair, but we must accept it and become stronger through this unfortunate time."
