Rashford Opens Up After Winning First Title with Barcelona, Hopes to Stay Long-Term

Marcus Rashford expressed great delight after winning his first title with Barcelona, hoping this is just the start of success at Camp Nou.

On 12 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Marcus Rashford, the English international forward, expressed hope that winning the Spanish Supercopa with Barcelona would be the first of many trophies he will achieve with the Catalan giants.

In the El Clásico match in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday night, Barcelona narrowly defeated Real Madrid 3-2. The 28-year-old Rashford came on as a substitute and helped the team secure their first trophy of the Spanish season.

After the game, Rashford shared his thoughts during the championship celebration.

“I’m very happy. It’s my first trophy with Barça, and the feeling of winning a first title is always special. I hope we can win more and that this won’t be the last one.”

The player, who joined on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season, admitted the team played excellently in this match, though there are still areas to improve. Nevertheless, everyone deserved to celebrate.

“This is what we can do. We still have to develop, but today is a day to enjoy and be happy,” Rashford added.

This season, Rashford has appeared in 27 games for Barcelona, scoring 7 goals and assisting 11 from his role on the left wing. He acknowledged that he is enjoying his football life at Camp Nou.

“It’s really great here, especially when we win. Everything becomes easier. We are a solid team, and for me, this is a perfect moment.”

Although he missed a chance to add another goal late in the game, Rashford jokingly said, “I barely had any strength left in my legs.” He emphasized that his role is to come on and change the game, creating opportunities for the team until the final second.
