Real Madrid reveals the latest injury status of Kylian Mbappé ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
On 27 April 2026, Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid disclosed the latest condition of French international striker Kylian Mbappé after he was injured in Friday's 1-1 away draw against Real Betis.
The 'Los Blancos' announced via their official website, "Following the medical examination of Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid medical team today, he has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury in the back of his left thigh. We are monitoring his progress."
Some reports indicate that Mbappé's injury is not severe. He is expected to miss the upcoming La Liga match against Espanyol on Sunday, 3 May, but is likely to recover in time for the El Clásico away match against Barcelona on 10 May.
However, some sources in Spain suggest that Mbappé may require more than two weeks to recover, potentially ending his season early, while Real Madrid still have five matches remaining before the La Liga campaign concludes.
Real Madrid has yet to confirm how long Mbappé will be sidelined, while the player himself is hoping to return in time to be selected for the French national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled from 11 June to 19 July.
