On 2 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Roberto Carlos, the 52-year-old Brazilian national team legend and Real Madrid left-back, clarified through his personal Instagram after rumors spread that he had a sudden heart attack and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment, causing global concern among football fans.
The former Samba football superstar confirmed that the reports were untrue and that he did not suffer a heart attack as claimed.
"I want to clarify the information currently being spread. I recently underwent preventive medical treatment that was planned in advance with my medical team," Carlos stated.
The former Real Madrid player also confirmed that the treatment went well and his overall condition is within normal limits.
"The treatment was successful, and I am well. I did not have a heart attack. I am recovering well and look forward to returning to full fitness to continue my work and personal life soon."
Additionally, Carlos expressed gratitude for all the support he has received and reassured fans not to worry.
