Thumbs Up for Rosnier: Delighted with Chelseas Trio in FA Cup Rout of Charlton

Liam Rosnier, Chelsea's new manager, spoke openly after his debut in charge, leading the team to a resounding 5-1 away win over Charlton in the FA Cup third round last night.

On 11 Jan 2025 GMT+7, Liam Rosnier, the new manager of the "Blues" Chelsea, expressed great happiness with the team's performance and attitude after their 5-1 victory at Charlton in the FA Cup third round last night, especially praising Marc Guehi, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens.

Goals from Jorell Hato, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guehi, and substitutes Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez helped Chelsea dominate Charlton at The Valley in Rosnier's first game as Blues manager. This win advances Chelsea to the FA Cup fourth round, a competition they last won in the 2017-18 season.

After the game, Rosnier said, “I’m very happy with the team’s attitude. Even in the first half, I felt our pressing was intense and very good. I felt we controlled the game.”

“These players are excellent. They were well trained before I took over. I’m very pleased with the unity and spirit the team showed today.”

“Marc Guehi played superbly. His positioning and pressing were excellent. He deserved the goal he scored. He was always in the right place where we needed him tactically.”

“I feel Jamie Gittens played very well. I also think Garnacho almost scored a beautiful goal. He kept trying to dribble and cut inside consistently.”

“I believe in this group of players. I trust every one of them. If we want a truly strong season, we have to use them. I must have faith in them, and they rewarded that faith today. They have truly given me hope for the future.”
