Manchester City's assistant coach praised Antoine Semenyo after his debut match helped the team thrash their opponents 10-1.
Pep Linders, Manchester City's assistant manager, said he was impressed by Antoine Semenyo's rapid adaptation after both scoring and assisting to lead the team to a 10-1 victory over Exeter City in the FA Cup third round last Saturday.
Semenyo recently transferred from Bournemouth to Manchester City for £65 million, with the Sky Blues beating rivals Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to secure his signature.
The goal Semenyo scored made him the first player to both score and assist in his debut match for Man City in all competitions since Sergio Aguero achieved this against Swansea City in August 2011.
Linders said, “Semenyo is adapting well. He is humble. We have been following him for a long time, and he brings exactly what we want and need to our attack.”
“He can attack quickly. He is eager to chase the ball and never stops. You can see he adapts very quickly to our style, so it’s great to have him on the team.”
