Klopp Will Only Coach Two Teams If He Returns to Management

Jürgen Klopp, former Liverpool manager, is reportedly willing to coach only two teams if he returns to sideline management.

Florian Plettenberg, a well-known football journalist, reported that former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is ready to consider returning to coaching if offered a position by Real Madrid or the German national team.

Klopp, 58, has been away from coaching since leaving Liverpool in May 2024, where he led the club to all major trophies, including one English Premier League title and two UEFA Champions League titles, citing fatigue as his reason for stepping down.

Afterward, the German coach took the role of global head of football at Red Bull in January 2025 and has shown no signs of returning to coaching since.

However, the latest report from Florian Plettenberg indicates that Klopp is reconsidering a major decision, but only two projects could entice him to return to coaching if everything aligns.

The first is Real Madrid, a club that has always attracted him, and he is seriously considering this role if the 15-time European champions officially approach him this summer, following the recent dismissal of Xabi Alonso; the other option is the German national team, preparing for the 2026 World Cup this summer.

However, the same source added that Klopp is not rushing to decide his future because he is currently very happy with the Red Bull project.
