Revealed: Cristiano Ronaldo's conditions for a team transfer following recent issues with Al Nassr.
On 4 February 2026, Record, a leading Portuguese media outlet, reported that 40-year-old star Cristiano Ronaldo is considering a transfer from Saudi league club Al Nassr this summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo refused to play in the Saudi league match where Al Nassr defeated Al Riyadh 1-0 last Monday due to dissatisfaction with the club's board for their lack of enthusiasm in strengthening the squad during the transfer window, not because of injury or illness.
Additionally, Ronaldo is unhappy with the unequal management by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which owns 75 percent of four Saudi league clubs: Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, Al Hilal, and Al Nassr.
Record further reported that Ronaldo's dissatisfaction has led him to consider leaving Al Nassr this summer. His release clause stands at £43 million (50 million euros), roughly 1.85 billion baht, and he earns an average daily wage of £488,000 (20.98 million baht).
Cristiano Ronaldo has 18 months remaining on his two-year contract signed with Al Nassr last summer. It remains to be seen if any club will meet his release clause. The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star still aims to reach the milestone of 1,000 career goals.
Sources also indicate that Major League Soccer in the United States is the most likely destination if Ronaldo transfers. If this happens, fans could see both Lionel Messi, currently with Inter Miami, and Ronaldo playing in the same league again, after their previous encounters in Spain's La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
