Brighton Coach Speaks Frankly After FA Cup Exit Following Liverpool Defeat

Fabian Herseeler, Brighton's coach, spoke out after his team was defeated by Liverpool and eliminated in the FA Cup fourth round.

Fabian Herseeler, Brighton's manager, said he disagreed with the referee's decision to award a penalty to Liverpool after his team suffered a heavy 0-3 loss, leading to their painful exit from the FA Cup fourth round.

Herseeler felt the decision was unfair. He believed that Salah went down too easily from a challenge by Pascal Groß, which resulted in the third goal being conceded.

"It was a poor decision. It was not good enough. It's hard to talk to the referees. We started the game well, controlled the ball, and the game shifted slightly when they scored," he said.

"I don't even know how that goal came about. We had two good chances in the first half but failed to convert them. Liverpool was more efficient."

"The second half was the same. We had a big chance from Lewis Dunk, and then a few minutes later they scored. That was the difference. They took their chances; we did not."

"In the end, it's a disappointing result because our fans were fantastic today. They supported us for the full 90 minutes and deserved more."

"We shouldn't feel sorry for ourselves or complain about those moments. It's up to us, including myself, to take responsibility and work hard. You have to get the small steps right, and then you can take the big ones."
