Earlier, reports circulated that Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese forward for Al Nassr, had left Saudi Arabia with his family heading to Madrid, Spain, following an Iranian drone attack on the U.S. embassy in Riyadh.
However, Al Nassr recently posted photos confirming that Ronaldo remains in Saudi Arabia and is currently recovering from an injury.
Meanwhile, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated, "Reports from foreign media about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Saudi Arabia with his family are not true."
"It is fake news because Cristiano is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Al Nassr's training ground following an injury from the latest match. Cristiano has not left Saudi Arabia for Madrid."
This clarification puts to rest speculation that the Portuguese star had left Saudi Arabia to escape war-related tensions.
Ronaldo, 41, lives in Riyadh with his wife Georgina Rodriguez and their five children.
