Major League Soccer Issues Lifetime Ban to Former Columbus Crew Players Over Football Gambling

"Major League Soccer" has announced a lifetime ban for former "Columbus Crew" players following confirmation of their involvement in "football gambling."

On 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Major League Soccer, the prominent American soccer league, announced lifetime bans for Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah, former players of Columbus Crew, after an investigation confirmed their involvement in "football gambling."

Major League Soccer stated that the investigation found Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah engaged in ongoing football gambling activities, including placing bets on matches involving their own club during the 2024–2025 season.

Previously, Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah had been suspended since October 2025 GMT+7 during the MLS rule violation investigation, which has now concluded with lifetime bans. This penalty is among the harshest ever imposed in MLS football gambling cases.
