On 27 Mar 2026, Dinh Hong Vinh, coach of the Vietnam U23 national team, revealed the team's strengths ahead of the fierce clash with Thailand's U23 team, led by coach Thawatchai Damrong-Ongtrakul, in the CFA Team China four-nation tournament's second match scheduled for tomorrow.
Looking back at the first round, Vietnam U23 drew 1-1 with North Korea U23, scoring early but conceding a late equalizer. Meanwhile, Thailand U23 led 2-0 against China but were caught and the match ended 2-2, leaving both teams with one point each.
Dinh Hong Vinh spoke about the team's strengths ahead of facing Thailand: “This squad is strong. I’m satisfied with the players’ spirit and determination. Most of them are under 21 years old, and some were part of the 2023 SEA Games championship team. Those experienced players help control the game’s rhythm and organize play. It’s a blend of youth and experience. We are ready for the next match.”
