Pep Guardiola Speaks Frankly After Man City Rout Liverpool to Reach FA Cup Semifinals

Pep Guardiola spoke frankly after Manchester City routed Liverpool to reach the FA Cup semifinals for the eighth consecutive year.

Pep Guardiola, manager of the "Sky Blues" Manchester City, was extremely pleased with his team's performance after they defeated Liverpool 4-0 at home, confirming their spot in the FA Cup semifinals, according to Pep Linders, the assistant coach.

Linders, who was in charge while Pep was suspended, said, "Pep Guardiola is very satisfied with the performance in this match, which is the most important thing. Making him happy is not easy. We had a good game; in the first 25 minutes, we played too openly, then we began to control the game and created more chances. We deserved to win."

Regarding what Guardiola said after the game: "He praised the players. He is very happy because reaching the FA Cup semifinals for eight consecutive years is very special. After that comes the final. It’s a crucial period in the season to achieve success. The players feel that way."

On Erling Haaland’s hat-trick: "Wow, those were fantastic goals, unbelievable. For me, the header was outstanding. I love it when a striker charges at the ball, and the fans love it too."

Meanwhile, Haaland said, "Between the 30th and 60th minutes was one of our best performances [of the season]. It has been a long time since I scored a hat-trick for City, so it was time to do it again! It’s very special, so I’m extremely happy."
