Zinedine Zidane has arrived and shared his first feelings after officially taking the helm of the France national team today.
On 28 Jul 2026, Zinedine Zidane revealed his emotions for the first time after officially assuming the role of head coach of the "Les Bleus," the France national football team, following an announcement by the French Football Federation (FFF).
Zinedine Zidane took over as the new head coach of the France national team from Didier Deschamps, who managed the team for over 14 years and recently stepped down after the 2026 World Cup, where France finished fourth. Zidane's contract runs through 2030.
Recently, Zidane said, "I have always said there is nothing greater than coaching the France national team. It is certainly a tremendous honor. I have great ambition for the national team and it is also a huge responsibility. I want to thank the president of the French Football Federation, the executive committee, and the federation for their trust. I also want to express my gratitude to Didier Deschamps and his staff for their dedicated work over the past 14 years."
Zidane, who previously led "Les Bleus" to the 1998 World Cup title as a player, will make his coaching debut against the "Anatolian Warriors," the Turkey national team, in the UEFA Nations League on 26 September, kicking off at 01:45 AM Thailand time.
