Sources indicate that Monaco wants to terminate the contract of 33-year-old Paul Pogba to allow him to transfer to a new club. He sustained a recent leg injury during training at the England training camp on Tuesday, reportedly forcing him to end practice early due to the injury.
Paul Pogba was once the world's most expensive player in the summer of 2016 when he transferred from Juventus back to Manchester United for £89.3 million.
However, Pogba's career darkened after his contract expired with Manchester United and he moved back to Juventus on a free transfer in 2022, playing only 284 minutes in league matches due to recurring injuries and a suspension for failing a doping test.
After serving his suspension, Pogba joined Monaco on a free transfer last summer but has played only six Ligue 1 matches totaling just 119 minutes as his injury problems persisted.
Consequently, Monaco has proposed terminating Pogba’s contract by 1 Sep, offering compensation under agreed terms to enable him to find a new club as a free agent. The final decision rests with Pogba and his team.
