Portugal Decides After Ronaldo Leaves National Team Camp

Portugal has made a decision after Cristiano Ronaldo requested to leave the national team camp.

"Portugal" is reportedly preparing to reconcile with "Ronaldo" after he left the national team camp in protest.

Spanish media outlet Marca reported that the Portuguese Football Federation is set to meet with Cristiano Ronaldo, the team captain and striker, next week to resolve the conflict he has with manager Jorge Jesus and to discuss his future with the national team.

The main tension between the two began during the UEFA Nations League match where Portugal defeated Norway 2-1, with Ronaldo being benched the entire game despite Jesus having promised him playing time. Ronaldo appeared very frustrated by this. The day after the match, Ronaldo met with Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo sought an official apology, but Jesus's press statement did not align with the promise to apologize. Shortly after, Ronaldo requested to leave the camp immediately.

After a turbulent week within the national team camp, Portugal has decided to meet with Ronaldo in person to resolve the issue. The meeting aims to confirm Ronaldo's return to the team, address the conflict, and prevent Ronaldo from abruptly announcing his international retirement.

The meeting between both parties will aim to ease tensions. The Portugal camp has concluded that Cristiano Ronaldo deserves a respectful and honorable farewell for his contributions to Portuguese football.
