The funeral took place in Navalmorosa, Toledo, the hometown of De Miguel's parents, where hundreds gathered to pay respects. Attendees included Rafael Luzán, President of the Spanish Football Federation; Luis de la Fuente, manager of Spain's 2026 World Cup-winning national team; and Florentino Pérez, President of Real Madrid. The mood was deeply sorrowful.

Luzán told the press, “Thank you all for being here. Today is a day for us to support Jesus’ family. We express our deepest condolences because I believe this loss is irreplaceable.”

De la Fuente added, “I agree with the club president’s words. We extend our deepest sympathies and respect. This is the best way to show how football unites us. Warm thoughts go out to everyone who loved him.”

Many tributes to De Miguel took place across Europe, including moments of silence before UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League matches. Ovono, the Equatorial Guinea international who was sent off in the incident with De Miguel, also expressed his sorrow.
