In the second half at the 60th minute, Liverpool extended their lead to 2-0. Mohamed Salah delivered a corner kick from the right side, which Hugo Ekitike headed into the net.
Neither team scored further in the remaining time. The match ended with Liverpool beating Brighton 2-0, earning 26 points and climbing to 6th place in the league table.
