Gary Neville, a well-known football pundit, believes there are only two teams contending for the English Premier League title this season.
On 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Gary Neville, a famous football analyst, stated that only two teams have a chance to win the 2025-26 English Premier League: Arsenal, known as the "Gunners," and Manchester City, called the "Citizens." Aston Villa, currently in third place with strong form, is unlikely to claim the championship.
The latest standings show Arsenal leading the table, two points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, and three points clear of third-placed Aston Villa, who have won 10 consecutive matches across all competitions.
Neville said, "I draw the line at two teams. Although Aston Villa is up there among the top and deserves respect, they won't win the league. I'd be very surprised if that happened. Arsenal and Manchester City would have to slip up massively for Aston Villa to take the title."
"Manchester City has Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola, which means they have very special people both on the pitch and on the bench. That is the biggest threat to Arsenal. So, Manchester City and Arsenal are the Premier League title rivals."
"Arsenal didn’t play very well at Everton, but I think they are in a good position. What will be really interesting is how they cope during March, April, and May. That will be a very interesting period."
