Here it comes!!! "The Reds" Liverpool have received the green light to pursue a Manchester City star player this January.
TEAMTALK, a well-known football media outlet, reported that "The Reds" Liverpool, a Premier League giant, have a chance to bring in Omar Marmouch, the Egyptian winger from "The Sky Blues" Manchester City, to Anfield this coming January.
It is understood that Liverpool is searching for a replacement for key forward Alexander Isak, who is sidelined with a long-term injury. Previously, they targeted Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, but the player prefers a move to Manchester City.
As a result, Manchester City is preparing to offload some attacking players to make room for Semenyo's arrival, with Marmouch being one of those likely to depart.
This signals a green light for Liverpool to proceed with signing Marmouch, as they have been interested in him for a long time, dating back to his days with Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga before Manchester City acquired him.
Marmouch started his career at Manchester City impressively, but this season he has had limited playing opportunities and clearly is not a key figure in Pep Guardiola's plans.
Therefore, if Marmouch moves to Liverpool, he will have the chance to reunite with Hugo Ekitike, with whom he formed a potent partnership at Frankfurt.
Importantly, Marmouch also shares a strong bond with Mohamed Salah from the Egyptian national team. They have good chemistry, which could be a valuable reinforcement for Liverpool in the upcoming new year.
