Man Utd startled as Wolves' manager delivers sharp remarks after ending an 11-match Premier League losing streak.
On 31 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Rob Edwards, manager of Premier League's bottom-ranked Wolverhampton Wanderers, spoke after the 19th match of the 2025-26 season, in which his team drew 1-1 away at Manchester United.
This result ended Wolves' 11-match losing streak in the Premier League, but they remain winless this season with only 3 points, staying at the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, it dashed Man Utd's hopes of breaking into the top 4; the "Red Devils" have 30 points, sitting in 6th place.
Rob Edwards praised his Wolves players for an excellent performance and said they deserved more than a draw against Man Utd: "At least we deserved this outcome. We played well and showed progress, though the result may have come a bit late."
"Our form, especially away from home, has been good, and we deserved more. We wanted to win this match. In our away games, we should have done better, but we didn't. We can take confidence and belief from this. The challenge now is to do the same at home."
"We've only earned 3 points all season; it's been very tough. We've shown determination, scored comebacks against Arsenal and Liverpool, and tonight we showed that determination and quality again. We had good chances in the first half and should have done more."
"Looking back, I might be disappointed we didn't score more, but the players worked hard. You can see that. You need results to build confidence and cohesion. The players are with us and ready to support, but nothing brings people together better than a good result."
"They're fighting hard. We might not look like a team with only 3 points, but the reality is we are there. We have to keep trying. We are doing the right things."
