Present Through Every Era: Dalot of Seven Managers The Only Man United Player to Appear in Final Games of Seven Coaches

Diogo Dalot has set a unique record in Manchester United's history by playing in the final match of seven consecutive managers.

On 6 January 2026, Diogo Dalot, the Portuguese right-back, made history at Manchester United by becoming the only player to appear in the final game of seven consecutive managers since joining Old Trafford in 2018.

This record was noted after Rúben Amorim was dismissed on Monday, 5 January, just hours after Manchester United's 1-1 Premier League draw away at Leeds United, where Dalot played the full 90 minutes.

This event earned him the nickname “Dalot of Seven Kingdoms,” reflecting his experience through continuous managerial changes from José Mourinho's era to that of fellow countryman Amorim.

The seven managers whose final games Dalot played in are:

  • Rúben Amorim: 1-1 draw against Leeds United (January 2026)

  • Ruud van Nistelrooy (interim): 3-0 win over Leicester City (November 2024)

  • Erik ten Hag: 1-2 loss to West Ham United (October 2024)

  • Ralf Rangnick: 0-1 loss to Crystal Palace (May 2022)

  • Michael Carrick (interim): 3-2 win over Arsenal (December 2021)

  • Ole Gunnar Solskjær: 1-4 loss to Watford (November 2021)

  • José Mourinho: 1-3 loss to Liverpool (December 2018)
