Liverpool Close to Securing Diazs Replacement as Player Ready to Transfer Reds Have Long Been Interested

Liverpool is now in a favorable position to secure Diaz's replacement, with the player ready to transfer; it has been revealed that the Reds have been interested for a long time.

On 7 Jan 2026 GMT+7, L'Équipe, a leading French media outlet, reported that Liverpool, a prominent Premier League club, is close to signing Bradley Barcola, a dynamic French national team winger from Paris Saint-Germain, to strengthen their squad next season.

Liverpool has been linked with Bradley Barcola since last summer after letting Luis Diaz transfer to Bayern Munich. Recently, the Reds renewed their interest in the 23-year-old winger as they have yet to find a suitable replacement for Diaz.

Manager Jürgen Klopp has admired Bradley Barcola's talents for a long time, while Liverpool have monitored his performances since his time at Olympique Lyonnais before his move to PSG in 2023.

Recently, Loïc Tanzi, a journalist from L'Équipe, revealed that PSG still want to keep Bradley Barcola, but contract renewal talks have stalled for over a year, making a post-season transfer likely.

Barcola, who is under contract with PSG until 2028, desires regular playing time; however, his opportunities have declined since Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined from Napoli in January last year.

As a result, Bradley Barcola is considering a summer transfer, and Liverpool have a good chance to sign him. The club could attract him by offering a starting role on the left wing, a position they have been searching to fill since losing Luis Diaz.

Sources also revealed that Liverpool have not rushed to compete with Manchester City for Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth because they consider Bradley Barcola the more suitable option.
