Peter Schmeichel said, "I think Manchester United’s decision to sack Rúben Amorim at this time is a huge mistake. Especially since they didn’t have another plan in place, which really surprises me. I didn’t expect something like this to happen. To be honest, I don’t understand it at all."
"As I said, why the team chose this moment is beyond reason. If Jason Wilcox feels disrespected by what happened in that meeting, I don’t think his ego should determine who manages the team. He might say it’s not good, it’s hard to work with this person, but whatever happens, I think the timing is wrong as it could set the club back. But no matter what they do now, it will hold them back anyway."
