Liverpool Set to Sign Former Manchester United Player to Strengthen Squad

The "Reds" Liverpool are reportedly considering signing a former Manchester United star to strengthen their squad.

Spanish outlet Fichajes reported that Liverpool, a Premier League giant, is considering acquiring Mason Greenwood, a former Manchester United striker who currently plays for Olympique Marseille, to join Anfield.

It is understood that Liverpool is looking for a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose form has significantly declined and whose contract expires in 2027. There is also a possibility he could leave the club this summer. Manager Jürgen Klopp wants a forward capable of finishing with both feet to add more variety to their attack.

Recent reports indicate Liverpool is considering signing Mason Greenwood, a prolific attacker from Olympique Marseille. The 24-year-old has been in excellent form, currently leading as the top scorer in France’s Ligue 1 with 11 goals and 3 assists. Marseille has valued him at 80-100 million euros.

However, signing Greenwood is not only about evaluating his performance; there are many other issues to manage. His past as a former player of archrivals Manchester United could upset some fans.

There is also the matter of his departure from United amid allegations of rape and assault against his girlfriend, although he was ultimately cleared of all charges.

After overcoming that difficult period, Greenwood has returned to playing football happily, and his family life with Harriet Robson is stable. It remains to be seen whether Greenwood will return to playing in England again.
