On 15 Jan 2026 GMT+7, another big name has surfaced: Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly interested in taking over the job of reviving the "Red Devils" Manchester United, the renowned Premier League club, to reclaim their European dominance and pursue every trophy, as in their glorious past.
The sleeping giant of Manchester in red has recently undergone another major change after the club's board parted ways with Portuguese former coach Ruben Amorim, who left along with the three-at-the-back system, following his public criticism of senior management during a press conference after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United on 4 January, which made headlines in the football world.
Michael Carrick, the club's legendary former player, has just taken over as interim coach until the end of the 2025-26 season. There have been links to several high-profile coaches, including Thomas Tuchel, the "Three Lions" England national team manager; Mauricio Pochettino, coach of the "Yanks" United States national team; and Carlo Ancelotti, trainer of the "Samba" Brazil national team.
Most recently, Julian Nagelsmann has committed fully to leading Germany's national team at the 2026 World Cup. However, if he decides to return to club management this summer, Manchester United, based at Old Trafford, would be an attractive new destination for him.
